About 50 club members compete in a ladder type system. This runs over a period of a couple of months and involves up to six singles matches against similarly skilled opponents. The promotions and relegations at the end of each round ensure that players of the same ability are usually in the same box and this has led to an overall league containing players of all ages and abilities. This means that if you want to join there will be an appropriate box that is right for you! If you want to join, or want more details, please contact the organiser, Jon Monkcom Kingsgate.boxes@gmail.com

We would like to hold another Christmas mix-in this year, which will be on Sunday 17th December.  Details will follow later, but there will be play for adults and also for children, finishing off with plenty of mince pies and mulled wine.  This has been great fun in former years, so we hope you will support the idea.
  • The finals were played in some unsettled and windy weather on the 10 September, but they were all completed. Congratulations to the winners who were: Men's singles: Craig Edmondson, Ladies' singles: Michelle Dutton, Men's doubles: Anil Gupta and Ben Sefton, Ladies' doubles: Alice Manson and Lorelei Sanderson, Mixed Doubles: Alice Manson and Alistair Dobson, Vets: Paul Pounsford and John Barker.
  • David, our club coach, organised an early evening party for all the family.  In addition to the pumpkin competition (both the pumpkins grown by club members and pumpkin carving) there was a wide range of activities for all the family, music and a barbecue for all.  This year the event attracted 350 people, our biggest ever! Country bumpkin dress was encouraged, but not compulsory! For pictures see the 'Gallery' and for further information contact David Woodford, woodywinch@yahoo.co.uk

The Wimbledon opt-in starts on the 20th September this year - and you have until the 23rd February 2018 to register. For those of you who would like to be in the ballot for the club's allocation of tickets (we had over 40 pairs this year) you need to be a member of British Tennis and to go on-line and opt in to the ballot. If you don't do this you cannot get tickets.
